Dorset County Council, lead partners of the Coastal Change Pathfinder, are
readvertising for a innovative Project Manager who can further cement our
reputation for being at the cutting edge of sustainable coastal management.
The overall purpose of the Dorset-led Coastal Change Pathfinder is ‘to
ensure through meaningful engagement and participation that coastal
communities are well-equipped to understand, debate and take part in
decisions about coastal change, adapting and becoming more resilient to
those changes as a result, based on sound science and local knowledge’.
The Pathfinder funding will be used to support a range of activities aimed
at helping coastal communities along the Jurassic Coast to better
understand and adapt to the impacts of coastal change.
Applicants should have a background in coastal policy, community
engagement or a related field and have a good understanding of the
dynamics and politics of coastal change. You will have project management
experience, and have worked effectively with communities and other
stakeholders to build consensus and manage change.
The post is fixed term for 18 months. Closing date: 30th April 2010.
