What we do	We are a men’s singing chorus and our speciality is unaccompanied close harmony in the barbershop style. Barbershop singing is a hobby that enables four men with average voices to produce exciting four-part harmony. We are the only men’s Barbershop Chorus in Dorset and we strive to improve our high standards of singing through training by visiting tutors from our national organisation ‘The British Association of Barbershop Singers’. We compete each year against the other 50 British choruses at our National Convention, and we entertain regularly at public and private functions. Our more familiar name is The Southern Union Chorus and we meet 7.30pm every Monday evening at Linwood School, unless it is a Bank Holiday when we recommend you discover our whereabouts by using the contact page of our web site. Barbershop singing is an exciting style of unaccompanied singing which builds natural harmonies around a melody. There are four voice parts; the LEAD sings the melody, whilst the TENOR (who sings above the melody) BARITONE and BASS provide the harmony.
