What we do	The Bournemouth natural History society will continue to provide means of raising awareness of the area’s natural heritage. It has within its membership much knowledge of the local wildlife, geology and archaeology which could contribute to improving the biodiversity of Bournemouth’s green spaces. The society records and collections of local specimens can help provide a baseline for biological recording. The collection is also and educational resource for interested students and could be made an attraction for residents and visitors.
Contribution to Partnership	The Bournemouth Natural Science Society was formed in 1903 and is dedicated to ‘promoting interest in and knowledge of the natural sciences’. In the intervening century members of the society have contributed to the greater knowledge of the area’s wildlife, geology and archaeological heritage, through research, papers, field studies and observations, as well as lectures and displays.
