Comprehensive Area Assessment

The Comprehensive Area Assessment (CAA) replaces the old assessment system of the council with an assessment of the area and includes all statutory agencies and is based on “are we making a difference and is it what residents want and need”.

As part of the CAA process Bournemouth 2026 produced a Self Evaluation during May and June 2009 broadly following the I&DeA guidance for CAA Self Assessment to provide a snap shot of the area and how the Partnership is contributing to improved outcomes.

The Chairs of our Strategic Delivery Partnerships were asked to complete a template which posed a series of questions, and also asked for a SWOT analysis. These templates were then taken to our Consultation Forums for their consideration and input before being collated into the final document.

The first section covers general issues relating to the town and sets the context of the area and how the Partnership works.  The second section answers the theme based questions set out in the I&DeA guidance, sets out what we believe our strengths to be and highlights issues that we know require more attention.   The third section summarises the areas where we know we can improve our performance.

This is not intended as a fully exhaustive document, instead refers to other sources of information and evidence contained in the appendices and links throughout the document.
