What we do	We would hope to help shape the future of Bournemouth by the free presentation, which are aimed at children/young people safer in dogs company and by encouraging more people to volunteer their time and their pets for the good of others. Many elderly and special needs people cannot have a pet. We aim to provide a regular contact with a dog which is assessed and insured. Caring Canines is all about dogs for people as a group of working dogs in the community we offer happiness and unbiased and non judgmental friendship. We say “ Be Dogwise”.
Contribution to Partnership	We offer dog assisted therapy across the community from Upton to Highcliff taking in Wimborne, Parley and Christchurch. Caring canines is a local group for local people offering a free visiting service, presentations on safety in dogs company , responsible dog ownership, and members give talks on the work of the group. Caring Canines visits weekly in 4 schools across Bournemouth, Southbourne and Poole with 15 Book Buddies working with children under 12 years as part of the group`s Be Bookwise literacy programme. More children are helped in pre-school with Charlie`s Storybook involving them in role play and encouraging them to interact with our safe, temperament tested dog and likewise with children from 5 years to 12 years with Be Dogwise promoting correct behaviour around dogs.
