| What we do |
DOTS Disability aims to contribute to Bournemouth’s community by promoting equality of opportunity for disabled people and tackling social exclusion. DOTS aims to lead by example by employing disabled people who work locally, raising awareness of disability equality. DOTS will work with any other members of Bournemouth Partnership towards achievement of the Community Plan.
|
| Contribution to Partnership | DOTS Disability was started by Occupational Therapists and provides professional solutions related to disability. DOTS now includes 12 disabled consultants and trainers and an Access Surveyor. DOTS is in the process of registering as a Community Interest Company. DOTS work with all kinds of organizations on all issues related to disability and the Disability Discrimination Acts (1995/2005). We provide professional advice and consultancy services in relation to Access, Accessible Information, the Disability Equality Duty, Employment, Vocational Rehabilitation, Training Services Delivery, Impact Assessments and ergonomics. We are disability consultants to Bournemouth Borough Council (Disability Equality Scheme and Disability Equality Training). We are also consultants to Castlepoint and several local housing associations. |
