What we do	Faithworks Wessex - showing God's love in practical ways. We are a Christian organisation that enables churches and individuals to demonstrate the Christian faith in real, practical ways that will benefit local communities. Although we are a Christian organisation, we do not impose our faith on anyone, and we will provide services and support to any individual who needs and wants our help, irrespective of their faith, race, disability, gender, sexual orientation etc. Our projects include : Homelessness outreach - building on the work done by churches across Bournemouth in providing hot food and drop-in facilities, our outreach worker seeks to foster positive relationships with the homeless and vulnerable. Our aim is to help them access appropriate support and where it is in the best interest of the client, we will work with other agencies to achieve this. FOCUS Bournemouth- Friends Offering Carers Understanding Support is open to any adult carer and is free of charge. FOCUS provides volunteer befrienders, who can give carers a listening ear, emotional support and companionship through the ups and downs of being a carer. Personal Budget Coaches - as part of the Mon£y Matt£rs project, we offer free Personal Budget Coaching to anyone finding it difficult to manage their money. While not giving financial advice or debt counselling, we can help you set you with budgeting skills and give you confidence in managing your money. Most projects recieve funding from specific bodies, but we rely on additional funding from churches and individuals to provide the essential administrative support and to ensble us to develop new projects. Training and consultancy - as part of our remit to enable and equip people to demonstrate the Christian faith in practical ways, we offer both training and consultancy to churches and community groups. Volunteering - there are many opportunities to volunteer with our projects and the contribution made by volunteers to Faithworks Wessex is very significant. We particularly value the diversity of background, skills and experience that volunteers bring and are delighted that so many of them tell us they find the experience rewarding. Contribution to Partnership	Faithworks Wessex is an independent local charity that seeks to equip and enable local Christians and churches to benefit their local communities in practical ways. We currently offer a homelessness outreach service that builds on the work of churches in offering food to the homeless and vulnerable by offering individual support to help them access appropriate accommodation. We co-ordinate the Personal Budget Coach network for the Mon£y Matt£rs project, which provides free budgeting and money management help to anyone in the BH postcode area. FOCUS Bournemouth is a befriending service for Carers, offering a listening ear and companionship through the ups and downs of being a Carer.
