About Bournemouth 2026

Why is it called Bournemouth 2026?

Bournemouth 2026 is a partnership that brings together hundreds of people from voluntary, community and faith organisations, private companies and public services work together to improve the lives of people who live, work and visit the town.

By working together organisations can pool resources and expertise to achieve our goals.

Why is it called Bournemouth 2026?

In 2006 the partnership was consulted on a 20 year vision for Bournemouth. The partnership was renamed as Bournemouth 2026 to remind partners that we are all working towards this vision.

What is the purpose of Bournemouth 2026?

Our Aims are to:

  1. Improve the quality of life of people in Bournemouth
  2. Use an intelligence led approach to identifying the challenges facing Bournemouth
  3. Find solutions to the difficult social, economic and environmental problems
  4. Consult on what we want Bournemouth to be like in the future, agree a shared vision in a Sustainable Community Strategy and action plan
  5. Encourage all partners to ensure that their strategies and plans work towards achieving the vision
  6. Identify and seek support to achieve our outcomes
  7. Bring together people to work together on projects
  8. Help shape the delivery of public services
  9. Agree how Bournemouth 2026 funding should be allocated to achieve our outcomes

Government define Bournemouth 2026 as a Local Strategic Partnership (LSP). Every local authority area should have a LSP and must have a Sustainable Community Strategy.
