Values and Commitments

Members of the Bournemouth 2026 partnership have agreed to abide by the following:


Values

  1. ‘Can do’ attitude – To work with a positive, confident and ambitious manner, where continuous improvement is welcomed.
  2. Openness – To operate in an open, accessible and inclusive manner so as to gain the genuine involvement of the third sector *, as well as local government and other public agencies.
  3. Equality – To ensure that individuals and organisations within ‘the Partnership’ are treated equally and their contribution to the work of ‘the Partnership’ is equally valued and recognised.
  4. Sustainability – To ensure that the decisions of the Partnership take fully into account the consequent economic, social, health and environmental impacts.
  5. Continuous Improvement – To work towards achieving continuous improvement within available resources.
  6. Developing Shared Objectives – To work towards the development of shared objectives.

Commitments

  1. Promote equality and diversity, and fight prejudice
  2. Value the voluntary sector by complying with the Compact and growing volunteering
  3. Promote the Bournemouth Partnership and its aims and values within your own organisation and in public.
  4. To commit to ethical standards in professional and public life (Nolan Report)
  5. Be an advocate for disadvantaged and powerless people
  6. Comply with the standards of participation and community engagement
  7. Consult effectively with each other and communities, and share results of consultation
  8. Commit to act on values of partnership
