Gearing Up for Going Green Event

Gearing Up For Going Green, which took place on Friday 3rd September 2010, was a resounding success. Free training in aspects of event management, including how to make events more sustainable, was delivered to over 100 delegates from the local area and local organisations.

The event was held at Bournemouth University, and was hosted by Bournemouth Borough Council, the Bournemouth 2026 Partnership, the Borough of Poole, and the Poole Partnership.

The event was introduced by Professor Adrian Newton, who spoke of the Green Knowledge Economy, and the keynote speaker was Brigit Strawbridge, of TV’s “It’s not easy being green.” Brigit was very inspiring and talked of her own experiences organising events. Training sessions were held on Fundraising, Low Cost, High Impact Marketing and Promotions, Green Event Management, and Engaging the Public. Brigit also gave a training session on bees.

The materials from the sessions are available below, together with the programme for the event, which contains the contact details for the speakers and trainers.
