The Boscombe Area Regeneration Group (BARG) has elected it's committee for 2011/12 as follows: Chair - Mark Cribb Vice-Chair - Fiona McArthur Secretary - Katie Sutton Treasurer - Jane Kelly Further updates will be posted on this page in due course. The Boscombe Area Regeneration Group is an umbrella organisation representing businesses, organisations and local groups in the Boscombe area. As the ‘community’ element of the Boscombe Regeneration Partnership, the group works closely with the Police Safer Neighbourhood Team, Community Regeneration Officer and the Boscombe Projects Officer from the Council to achieve a coordinated approach to regenerating Boscombe and a proactive approach to moving forward and promoting Boscombe focussing on positive opportunities. This includes the Boscombe Traders who working with BARG in 2010/11 produced a new vibrant brand for the positive promotion of the area. The Boscombe Tea Party festival in Boscombe is yet another one of the initiatives that BARG in 2010/11 worked on with the help of the Dorset Music Forum and support of the Council’s Boscombe Regeneration Partnership and recession funding. The event was the first of its kind in the region and will now take place annually- this years event attracted a footfall of over 11,000 to Boscombe! As a celebration of the diversity of the Boscombe area and of the wider region, it combines arts, food, music and entertainment for all ages and encompasses all of the distinct areas that Boscombe is fortunate to be made up of, each of which offers its own unique setting, and opportunity.
