VOLUNTARY-run youth work projects are being urged to register with Bournemouth CVS, a local charity that supports and advises charities and voluntary organisation.
They need to register by the end of January to receive specialist support from Bournemouth Borough Council. There are currently more than 100 voluntary and community groups involved in youth work service in the borough. These work to provide much needed activities to young people between the ages of 13 and 19.
A council spokesman said they wanted to work much closer with voluntary youth groups in the future. “We highly value their work and wish to support them in very practical ways such as free CRB checks, use of minibuses and equipment, training and advice on working with young people.” Registration forms can be downloaded by visiting the website bournemouthcvs.org.uk/VYSP.asp or calling 01202 466130 for more information.
