| Contribution to Partnership | Bournemouth People First is a charity run for and by people with learning disabilities. We help each other to speak up and try and make things better for people with learning disabilities. We do this by: Enabling people with a learning disability to have a voice in discussions about the services they use, and what they could do in the future within the local community. Campaigning and raising the profile of people with a learning disability within the wider community. Promoting consultation between people with learning disabilities and all service providers. We: Have open membership for anyone with learning disabilities. Have open meetings twice a year, where people talk about issues including education, money, jobs, day services and transport. Have a committee that tries represents all people with learning disabilities. Employ and train people with learning disabilities to work in the office. Provide training for service providers, on working with and communicating with people with learning disabilities. |
