Bournemouth 2026 is committed to equal citizenship and aims to deliver a community strategy that responds to the needs of the diverse community of Bournemouth.
Equality is a key value of our Sustainable Community Strategy and we recognise that all people must have equal access to information and services to ensure they can fully participate in society.
When we use the term "equality" we are referring to six aspects of legislation: race, gender, disability, sexuality, religion and age.
Throughout the development and implementation of the Sustainable Community Strategy and Local Area Agreement we have examined whether our activities discriminate against people, treat them unfairly or create barriers that prevent them from participating or benefiting.
To deliver equality of opportunity (equal opportunities) and treatment through the Sustainable Community Strategy we will ensure that equality and diversity remains at the forefront of the partnership’s agenda.
