The annual Bournemouth 2026 conference was held on 17th November 2009 Over 180 partners attended and feedback was very positive, (see below). One of the outcomes of the conference was the assessment of progress towards achieving Sustainable Community Strategy (SCS) goals. The assessment of each goal is being considered by the Consultation Forums, the goal leads and Strategic Delivery Partnerships. This will help prioritise activity for 2010. The feedback from delegates on influencing decisions is being used to inform LAA target on empowerment and the preparation of a partnership consultation and engagement strategy.
Also at the conferenece delegates were asked to write down their thoughts surrounding the Influencing Decisions campaign in terms of ideas, innovations and attitudes they would like to see adopted. The range of responses was remarkable, both in terms of numbers and the diversity of opinion. The article below highlights any general trends we perceived in the suggestions you made.
Partners were pleased that changes had been made to this year’s conference following feedback from 2008, ie earlier finishing time, lunch provided near exhibition area and increased level of group work. There was a mixed response to the continued use of theatre at the conference this year so we look to include different activities next year. Another issue to address next year is to consider the reintroduction of a morning refreshment break, (this wasn’t included this year to reduce cost) and to look at different venues as parking costs at the BIC are viewed to be expensive, although we do encourage partners to travel by bus.
Bournemouth 2026 was delighted to have received sponsorship from NHS Bournemouth & Poole and Dorset Police.
