A new playground has been proposed for Queen’s Park, and local residents and users of the space were asked for their comments.
Bournemouth Parks department are keen to promote the park as a family friendly space, and hope to make best use of existing council assets in the area such as toilets, café, bar and restaurant. The new playground will not only encourage more people to use the park and its facilities, but will also create a DDA compliant access ramp which will also be suitable for golf bags and pushchairs.
A consultation period was open for four weeks. Local residents were contacted by letter and posters were put up within the pavilion building, as well as Springbourne, Winton and Charminster libraries.
The outline proposals can be seen in the attached poster. Further information can be found on the Bournemouth parks webpage. The consultation closed on 16th September 2011.
