What we aim to achieve
Vision for 2026
The vision list below sets out our vision for 2026 Safer and Stronger.
3.1 Overall crime has reduced significantly over the last 20 years (since 2006) and is still reducing
3.2 The fear of crime is appropriate to the risk and people feel safe
3.3 The harm caused by illegal drugs is minimal
3.4 Communities respect each other and anti-social behaviour is unusual
3.5 Arson and domestic fires are rare due to the levels of safety improvements
3.6 There are good schemes and services for victims of domestic violence
3.7 There are good outcomes for sex workers especially prostitutes and their families
3.8 People have the same opportunities regardless of background and poverty is unusual
3.9 People are financially secure
3.10 Services from local traders are good and benefit fraud through illegal trading and undeclared work is rare
3.11 Outcomes for homeless people are good and there is a full range of accessible and supported services
