What we aim to achieve
Vision for 2026
The vision list below sets out our vision for 2026 for a Sustainable Environment.
4.1 Transport is available, affordable, accessible, reliable and safe - particularly for young people, older people, dissabled people and those without access to a car
4.2 There is no congestion and viable, sustainable forms of transport are promoted
4.3 Deaths & injuries in road traffic collisions are extremely rare
4.4 There is a good, well maintained transport and highway infrastructure which supports economic growth in a manner which improves the quality of life for residents and sustains and protects the natural environment
4.5 Public spaces, play areas and physical resources are clean, green, diverse, safe and accessible
4.6 Our use of resources is sustainable
4.7 Housing quality is high especially in houses let by private landlords, houses under multiple occupancy
4.8 We have a well developed proposal for social, affordable and sustainable housing
4.9 The majority of housing in Bournemouth is energy efficient and people can afford to heat them
