There are 54 democratically elected Councillors in Bournemouth across 18 wards (three Councillors per ward). Councillors represent their local community at the council, often campaigning for improvements in their ward on behalf of residents and business owners. Use this link to find out who represents your ward and how to get in touch with them.
Comments, Compliments and Complaints
The Council encourages feedback from its users, whether it's complimentary or a suggestion that helps us to improve our service delivery. This link provides you with details on how to get in touch with the Council plus the option of completing a Comment / Compliment / Complaint form online.
Run by residents and supported by Ward Councillors, Area Forums are more than just a talking shop. They provide the opportunity to:
- Advise the Council and other public service providers on issues that affect your area.
- Have a say on new community initiatives in your neighbourhood.
- Raise issues of local concern or contention with representatives from the public services such as the Police, Primary Care Trust and Council.
There are 13 forums serving local communities across Bournemouth. You don't need to have any experience with community work or in local government; if you're from the particular area your forum serves, you're more than welcome!

Dorset Police
The Safer Neighbourhood Teams give you the opportunity to influence policing in your local area. There are 15 Safer Neighbourhood Teams across Bournemouth - you will be able to find your community team on the website. Teams listen to residents and use the feedback they receive to devise their policing priorities within that area.
