It's a growing movement and we at West Howe Community Enterprises at the Inspiring Change Shop, West Howe are inviting you to be an early adopter.

Have you ever felt like all your stuff is weighing you down? Rather than getting caught in the endless cycle of making room in our lives for new things, why don't we try to break the thought that “more stuff equals a better life”

Un-Shopping is freeing yourself from needless stuff – the things that we don't need or don't use anymore so we move them to our overstuffed closets, garages or attics. keep things moving and create more space, free ourselves of stuff we don't need. Un-Shopping is the process of using the reCommerce and recycling shop right here in your local community.

We invite you to join in the Un-Shopping revolution and give reCommerce a try. We think you'll like it West Howe Community Enterprise, Inspiring Change shop, West Howe has helped keep gadgets, clothes, books and bric-a-brac out of the waste stream since we began trading a year ago. Not only have we diverted lots from landfill but we are also helping by providing cheap affordable goods to our customers in these hard financial times. We even have a regular basket of free stuff outside as well. We also except stained, ripped or worn out clothes as well and we make sure these get sent off for recycling which helps us to raise valuable funds to plough back into community projects.

I came to realize the Un-Shopping idea not recently, but over the course of a lifetime of developing a relationship with stuff. For me, it was the time that I came back from the shop with new cups and then struggled to fit them in the already overflowing cupboard "how much is enough?" Today we're asking you simply to give Un-Shopping a try to start by Un-Shopping one thing -- maybe a phone or a t-shirt. From there, see what happens. Maybe you'll find you enjoy it.
