About this Consultation

Eneco Wind UK Limited plans to build a number of wind turbines off the Dorset and Hampshire coast. The wind park, known as Navitus Bay, will create renewable energy and is proposed to be just west of the Isle of Wight and off the coast of Bournemouth. The details of the site have not yet been decided.

Eneco is running a consultation programme that lasts until Spring 2013 with a number of opportunities to get involved. More information can be found on their website.

In November 2011 Eneco held 2 public exhibitions about the proposed sites for the onshore substation. A decision on the substation choice will be made in Summer 2012.

Between 2 December 2011 and 29 February 2012 Eneco invited feedback on the offshore proposals.

Eight public exhibitions were held between 21st February and 3rd March 2012 at Swanage, Poole, Bournemouth, Christchurch, West Moors, New Milton, Lymington and the Isle of Wight. These public exhibitions provided people with information and updates on the project, along with the next steps. There was also the opportunity to speak with a member of the development team and provide feedback on the proposals.

The next phase of consultation will take place in Autumn 2012.
